Hi we are Shaun and Glenda, we currently own a Jayco Hawk Outback, we have had it for around 16 months, we also have three dirtbikes and often go camping at a farm at the back of Urbenville, Rover, Glen Echo.  Our dilema is that everytime we go we have to take two cars.

We have been talking to Johno at Trackabout trailers and are thinking of selling our Jayco and buying a camper trailer, that can carry the bikes as well  (Johno can make this for us).

Only thing is the wife feels like this would be like camping in a tent again.

It would be good to hear some feedback on this issue.

Jaycos and soft and hard floor campers all have their advantages and disadvantages.

At the end of the day you have to work out the best option for you.

Modern Soft and hard floor campers are very comfortable and give plenty of room.  They are definately not like being in a tent.

Hi Shaun. A friend has recently got one of these. www.trailermadecampers.com.au If you have bikes it is brilliant. The tent canvas is very well braced and solid and he has walls around his annexe and the ramp is able to be used as a bed also. I believe they can be set up with a kitchen as well.

G'day Shaun and Glenda and welcome to Myswag. It seems the jayco design fills the criterea and you can secure the bikes inside. It would be a drag cleaning it out all the time though.  Cheers

Shaun,

Has it been suggested to try hiring a trailer to see what the wife thinks - it certainly is different to a tent and she is still sleeping up off the ground and they can come with a lot of the mod cons as well.

G'day & welcome. That'san interesting challenge you have, in carrying all you want to take.

I guess we've all got that to a degree. Him with the most toys wins  1st Place

Howdy Shaun and Glenda and welcome to the forum.

This probably won't help but have you thought of a road-train Grin Wink

There are all sorts of modified CT's here for motor bikes .... there's a Mountain Trail Camper in the classifieds with twin bike racks.

http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=4519.0

Plenty of pics there for Glenda. Certainly 2 very different styles of "camping".

Is the Jayco Outback capable of being modified to carry your 3 bikes ..... what extra weight would that contribute?

Good Luck.

 Cheers

Craig

Thanks everyone, for advice.  We have decided to try and sell the Jayco Hawk Outback (see classifieds  laugh)
if it sells then a motor bike carrying camper is meant to be.

Welcome to Myswag Guys. Good luck with the disposal of the Jayco and the acquisition of what ever you decide on.
    Cheers Rossco.
