looking to replace my camper rims 15x7 to same as my std gu 16x8.
rims fit, just but problem is a bolt holding the leaf pack together is lucky to be 10mm of the back of the tyre. worried about this rubbing through the tyres.
thinking of wheel spacers but, either get 8mm and be loosing a lot of thread on studs, or go the you beaut 1 1/2 inch spacers that give you new studs that are a bit pricey. any other options i missed?
don't know if it makes a difference but also want to upgrade hydraulic brakes to electric and will have to change hubs etc.

Hi can you take a picture of the bolt you are concerned about?

I may be wrong but the bolt may not even come into play because your tyre wall movement is mainly at the base. Depending on how exe your spacers are you could also look at a new axle.

A factor you should consider is what will spacers do to the track of your camper, against the track of your tug.  Better to have them similar if possible.

Are spacers legal? Someone will know. The more thred on the wheel nuts the better and the more expensive spacers with the studs will most likely be a better quality. As you are upgrading to electric brakes would it be better to get a complete axle with fitted brakes that has a wider track to suit your needs?

Gidday, hope this helps. Cheesy Just upgraded axle( just being 16/11/09 as I look at receipt) on our customline to match our GU went to an active fabrications 60mm axle with 12in elect brakes. They make them to order, I ordered 1645mm face to face which is what I measured back axle of patrol as( that doesn't mean it is it just what it looked like crosseyed laugh ). Total cost inc welding on axle pads and u bolts etc- $808.58inc. just to give a ball park reference.  Active fab is on net but if you need freight you have to organise it or there probably dozens else out there who do axles like that.
Did you get genuine rims or sunraisia cause you can ask for different offsets on rims. Grin

thanx guys for the info. i will measure the track width before i go any further, especially before replacing the axle. i have yet to buy the rims and will go the sunnies, have you got a price on genuine rims lately OMG.... might try slightly different offset, but also have to make sure they won't stick out to far. thinking -13 offset should be ok Huh? as long as they are interchangeable with the troll i'm happy.
