We are still on the lookout for our perfect camper trailer and as such we soak up all the information relating to camper trailers we can.

So my question for today is.....

What product/gadget/anything on your camper is the one (or two or three....) things that has been the most useful to you and why?

We are still tent campers but hopefully not for too much longer. We have a canvas cabin tent and my absolute favorite thing (apart from it keeping me dry when it rains - except for that one time, but that's a whole other story!) is the pockets up the wall. There are about 12 of them and they are about 20cm sq. I love them because they can hold anything and everything in them without the need to go searching. It just makes finding those small things that get used fairly regularly so easy - especially with the children.

I'm keen to follow this thread ... it's gonna be a good one I reckon.

When I still used a tent (hasn't been for awhile lately alas), it had a hanging shelf sort of thing which hung from four points and central on the roof.  Fantastic for chucking the keys and torch in during the night.  I'm thinking of making one for the camper but we'll see how pratical that will be in a few days.  Mine also had side pockets but they were hard to find as they were quite low to the ground but length ways along the tent they were a great size.

Our camper has storage over each wheel arch (inside) which I reckon will be great for putting things at night whilst sleeping.  The pantry has a slide over shelf which can give us extra bench space whilst cooking.

The walkway on our Extenda.

1. Legroom for my lanky legs to hang over the end of the bed.
2. Turns the end of the bed into a great nappy change area
3. Easy to get up in middle of night without disturbing partner
4. Great place to stuff everything you can't be bothered to find a proper spot for come packup time  Grin

My favourite thing on my Tardis is the lockable lid and tailgate ..
My most un-favourite thing is lack of storage space ....
Of course Solar charging goes without saying -- LOL ...

Cheers

Hi Guys,

1.  Zip Ties
2.  Duct Tape

To fix the stuff I break and to make things to replace the stuff I forget to take.

Regards

My list is long but distingushed:

1.  Coil Suspension.  This is an absolute revelation in my opinion.  Other will dissagree but I can honestly say that if it wasn't for the extra fuel we use when towing, I wouldn't know the camper was there.  Its THAT good.

2.  Tropical Roof.  It may only drop the temp inside the tent by 5 degrees or so but that can make the difference between a comfortable stay and an unbearable one.  Worth every cent..!

3.  Pump and tap on the kitchen.  Ours is a unique design in that it functions as a tap for the sink but its on a hose and can be used to clean stuff or even have a shower if needs be.  see pic below.

4.  Hand water pump on the side.  Fantastic for cleaning up after packing everything away when its dirty and dusty.  Its a small thing that makes life just that little bit easier.

5.  Large tool box.  Seems I can fit just about anything in there.

6.  LED tail lights.  The ones we have will detatch retinas at 50 meters...!  I think trailer lights are not given the consideration they deserve and in my opinion, the bigger and brighter, the better.

7. Fully enclosed annex. These are worth ever cent if you intend to stay at one location for a period of time.  Gives you somewhere to sit and eat that's away from the flies and mozzies.  With ours the storm covers can be put up to extend the covered area around the annex for more space.

There's probably more stuff I could point out but that should do for a start.

Good luck with your search.

A Duetto 12v/240v hot water system. Hot showers at the end of each day are welcome and the hot water at the sink is so handy.

One of my favourite things would have to be my Camp Oven Stove, easy to cook with, and not a lot  we can’t cook in it.
