Day 4 - Sunday, 29 July 2012
« on: August 04, 2012, 11:01:00 AM »
Day 4

Yogi and Craig (Bugone) were up before sunrise for an early fish, the time was 5.30am and they soon saw Paul (Paul4Nat) and Ethan (Paul4Nat – son) in front of their camp having an early fish also. Couldn’t take the smile off yogi’s face after his early fish as he had finally had success with catching 5 Tailor, this was the start of a great birthday.  Ute701, Nomad, Niley, Bigjules and Blueroo headed off early to Champagne Pools and joined the rest of the group at Eli Creek for lunch and an afternoon of fun.  Around 10.30am the remaining of the MySwaggers who had venture to Champagne Pools the previous day made their way to Eli Creek to get a great spot, the majority of the people there that day would have been MySwag.  We were joined by Jeepers Creepers who made the trip over for the day to meet some more members from MySwag, it was great to meet another MySwagger and top effort for making the trip.  A few of the adults and kids joined in a game of touch footy whilst others had a play in Eli Creek. Yogi soon joined in with a few games including water rockets, V8ute pumped up the inflatable rings Amanda had brought which the kids had a lot of fun playing with.  Following touch footy it was time for a rest and lunch and we were soon joined by the other group who had ventured to Champagne Pools for the morning.  Next a game of cricket was on for many of the MySwaggers and little MySwaggers.  BBQ’s were fired up for an enjoyable lunch beside Eli Creek.  Amanda, Monique (V8ute), Dylan (V8ute – daughter), Bec (DaznBec) and Jasmine (DaznBec- daughter) decided to go for a walk along the boardwalk and a walk down Eli Creek with an inflatable ring in tow which Amanda had suggested would be a lot of fun to float down Eli Creek on. The water temperature was quite fresh but everyone soon got use to the nice fresh clear water of Eli Creek, Jasmine who had carried the inflatable ring up the boardwalk was soon in the ring and on her way down Eli Creek with Bec chasing after her. We all soon caught up which Jasmine and Dylan who were enjoying floating in the inflatable rings down Eli Creek, at the end Jasmine was extremely excited with how much fun that was and returned for the trip down Eli Creek another 3 times.  Monique was quite happy with seeing the some of the fresh water fish probably jungle perch.  Many others walked the creek and especially memorable for Frostd and Melissa (Frostd’s daughter) with the sighting of an eel hiding amongst the roots of a tree.  Following the Eli Creek BBQ it was time for the traditional group photo witch was to be taken at the Maheno wreck, everyone enjoyed having a look around and taking some more memorable photos.  Another enjoyable day was had by all and then we were all off for showers and dinner followed by the daily raffle and camp Yogi and the information on the activities for the next day which would be Sandy Cape.  2nd Raffle took place around the heat of the pig:- Mallee Tracks (donated by Bigjules) went to Jetcrew, set of Quickfists (donated by Burnsy and travelled via Swagmail from McGirr, JK and OVR55 on the MySwag Cape York trip) went to Jetcrew, 2 x windup torches (donated by GLC) went to Frostd and Niley, following bottles were donated by Smoko – Frangelico when to Paul4Nat and a bottle of Jack Daniels went to Loy who was kind enough to give it to V8ute (Monique looked like she wanted it more than Loy).  Another relatively early night for all after having a great day and knowing another big day was ahead for all with an early start.

As the early settlers had already been to Champagne Pools , us three ( BlueRoo , Niley , Ute701)  , plus BigJules , and Nomad  ( who had also both arrived Saturday ) decided we would shoot up there and be back in time for the BBQ at Eli Creek .

But as we woke up there was an unfortunate realisation that the night before when we visited Yogi Camp Central , there was one thing we had not packed away ... and that was our cooler bag with our chocalate supply in it ; and you guessed it the Dingoes found it . They finished off a bag of Freddos , and 2 large blocks . I hope they had stomach pains all day . But the worst part was they left the evidence for us to cry over .....

Looking towards Indian Head from the Champagne Pools track

The very high seas of late had filled alot of the Champagne Pools with sand .

The sand did give a soft edge to the Pools though.

Nomad ( Paul ) did have his surfboard on the roof , so he was keen to check out the waves.

The walkway down to the Pools.

Patterns against a blue sky .

A My Swag Meeting in idyllic surroundings.

We then went on over the track to Waddy Point and pulled up next to a Sand Blow .

Alex against an awesome blue sky .

Sam takes a run down the Dune .

Ava encourages Renee to keep climbing up the Dune .

Macca takes a flying leap off the Top.

We got back to Eli Creek to join the others ... No Problem picking them out ....

Terry takes one of his girls for a walk down the Creek .
Best line ever for what NOT to say  :
" Stay with me , you'll be fine ... Wow ! look at the size of that Eel ! "

It's certainly clear water .

The kids loved walking down the creek ( old and young )

The Maheno Wreck was the next stopping point .

It was here we chose a Group Photo with those that were present .

" Hands up , who's having a Great Time ? "

That afternoon back at camp was a nice sunset .
This is the track up to our camp.

The full moon was a day away .

Another day spent in Paradise ....
