Buying secondhand caravan interstate

We are thinking of buying a hybrid caravan outside WA.
How does this work with transferring the paperwork?
And when collecting ourselves, is it best to have the seller keep the rego till we are home?
How does this all work?
I tried to find the answer on the DoT website but not clear to me.

If the seller wont sell with rego (good chance of it), if its the same as Vic you have to get a permit from Vicroads which allows travel for X days

I did see the greynomads post but that was a new van and a bit a conflicting info.

Would be nice if the roads people in each state made it easier with straight forward 1 page of info - Im sure theres probably a phone call to them every day asking about it..

how did you go with it? Did you get a 'real' solution?

We have booked flights and accommodation to have a look at a hybrid in Adelaide mid-January.
I have requested a few quotes for shipping and asked around how it works.
It seems straight forward when you ship it.
You need to have it inspected and with their paperwork you will get it registered.

What I noticed is how protective Rhinomax is.
Their Facebook group pages are ONLY for current owners, and you are only granted 14 days access to have a feel of the group if they deem you good enough.
Don't start a topic as the manufacturer will step in and give you their answer.
So, if you want an honest answer/opinion form owners before you buy, you will not get it from the FB group.
