agree
Like most people I've had mates live/die on all sorts of Shit...
One that sticks out was mate who had a rough time, his brother was killed in a crash with few other local kids...
he turned to heroin.... he was that wasted to the point of trying to hold up a shop with a "Spud gun" - with potato in other hand...
He got his Shit together years later.... then had another brother die, and shot back to the Shit... we all tried to steer him right, but it had hold of him...
He started explaining the feeling he got from it, why he did it etc... few more years later, he was found in a laneway in the cross dead.

Another mate went tripping on LSD back in around 85.... and he is still out there baked - he never came down..

... and its over

Anthony Gobert passes away

Anthony Gobert has crossed the line for the final time.
The once flamboyant superstar passed away overnight while in palliative care.
Goey’s battles over the years have been well chronicled and I have no interest in recounting any of them here.
He had his demons, and ultimately the demons won.  Alcoholism is what finally did him in.

Here I will reflect only briefly on my personal dealings with Anthony, which were generally all positive.
https://www.mcnews.com.au/anthony-gobert-the-flame-that-burns-twice-as-bright-burns-half-as-long/

Yes a sad end
I knew Goey well in the early 90’s, but lost touch
He has good mates with a couple of friends of mine Greg Scott and Clayton Chapman who were great MX riders in their own rite
He was making $10k a week winning super cross’s when he was 18 years old, what could possibly go wrong

RIP Goey
If your not prepaired to stand behind our troops
Then feel free to stand in front of them

Can certainly do without all the political posters plastered all over the place for months on end, this was also a bi partisan decision by both major political parties which makes a pleasant change.
Not sure you where you are headed with your comment, this seems to be a law headed in the right direction.

Sorry if this offends anyone,
But What is with all the FB posts of vapour trails from planes and people asking the goverment to stop spraying us?
People are coming out of the woodwork, people who I thought were forward thinking, and are smart people are commenting.
Everytime there is a change in the weather, the sky becomes clear and a plane goes over head, someone takes a photo, posts and the nut jobs come out blaming the goverment for how they feel.

Sorry if you believe in this, it just does my head in, btw most are Flat Earthers aswell.
But I'm not touching that atm, one conspiracy at a time thanks.
;)

I don't understand it. An old school friend (who is a sweet girl and pretty switched on about many things) has now started posting these.
She's at Agnes Waters. One morning last week she posted a video of three vapour trails stating they could not possibly be planes.

Quick check of Flight Radar I could see basically every flight from Brisbane and Sunshine Coast going north flies close to Agnes Waters, and there were in fact three planes that had not long flown over her.
There are many ways the government is shafting us... but spraying us with some sort of mind control from commercial airliners is not one of them  ;D

Ah, but those flights that you saw registered weren't actually commercial aircraft, they were sprayers, disguised as passengers jets!  ::) ;D

Matt,
What I don't get,
They are growing in numbers, as you mentioned, smart, intelligent people,  they believe we are being 'sprayed' and they have no probleming with voicing it on social media and in person.
You can not reseason with them at all over it.

So would this happen in Australia ??

https://nypost.com/2024/03/12/business/your-car-is-spying-on-you-and-upping-your-insurance-rates-report/

Do you mean would Australians choose to subscribe to a service that monitors their driving habits and then sook that the system has been monitoring their driving habits?

Quite probably.

Has anyone seen Just a Farmer?

https://www.justafarmer.net/

From a review:
'Australian Made' Movies
An important Australian Made local movie - a Must See for all!
I previewed 'Just A Farmer' recently. Its a movie you will think about into the future. It certainly achieves it goal - to raise awareness of the plight of our Farmers.
It deals with what has been a difficult subject  for our community - Don't be put off by this - I personally recommend for every mature person to see it.
The movie is Rated M - Can be viewed by all ages.
Mature themes, suicide themes and coarse language.

and also

"Just A Farmer" transcends traditional cinema, authentically portraying the challenges and triumphs of a resilient farmer in rural Australia.
This cinematic journey amplifies the often-overlooked voices of rural communities and sheds light on mental health struggles.
It's more than a movie; it's a dedicated movement creating awareness, dismantling stigmas, and impacting the well-being of rural Australia.
"Just A Farmer" breaks new ground, fostering understanding and assuring individuals they don't face darkness alone

Question: are the lithium batteries used in these scooters/fire starters etc made differently from the ones used by campers and caravans or for the house??

Victorian fire authorities say they're responding to almost one lithium-ion battery fire every day.

Commander Eckholdt said lithium-ion batteries were a growing concern for fire services, who are responding to almost one fire per day caused by lithium-ion batteries.
"What we are finding is that a lot of people are charging devices while they're asleep — phones, computers, scooters, that type of thing," he said.
