Should have been a nice bit of flow in the river too .
yes there was mate. the area had a fair drop of rain the last few weeks or so.
It had been over the Buccarumbi bridge by about a meter but the day we were there it had gone down well enough to have a decent swim.

that part of the river is shallow & with the low 30 deg days up there its warm.

Funny enough, we were up at Yates crossing today an the water there was very warm, even after the river was over the bridge.

Just saw this:

The annual Australian Lamb ads are here and once again they do not disappoint.

On Tuesday, one of the campaign’s billboards was spotted not far from Melbourne Park where the Australian Open is being played without Serbian world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

On the side of a truck, the Meat and Livestock Australia ad reads: “Everyone’s welcome at our BBQ. Not Djoking.

"Lightweight aluminium hull & superstrucuture" + lot's of big windows does NOT = "depths of 985 feet"! ::)

1000' is approaching (or over!) the depth limits of a lot of military submarines, which are made out of very solid steel, with no windows!

I like the Thai version we saw at Patong Beach, Phuket, back in 1982? Made of concrete, so it's strong, and sinks well.. :)

Just reading the news which made reference to Mark McGowan in WA giving a press conference.

I somehow doubt that the freeze frame of the video was entirely accidental ... ;D >:D

Bit more playing & got it to work!

Same here, but not a mate at the time, just a kid in another class when I was in grade 8. He'd walk around going "f*ck f*ck.. talk talk talk f*ck f*ck f*ck.. talk talk...c**t f*ck f*ck" etc. Me being just a young dumb kid, didn't know about Tourette's, so one day when he was walking past I started doing the same thing. He spun around, grabbed me by the knot in my tie (yeah QLD in '68) with one hand, and gave me about 3 quick jabs to the nose, with the other hand... I still remember the sound, and feel of the chips, in the bag which he still had his hand in, scrunching against my nose. Funny as f*ck thinking back on it LOL, and I hope he sees the funny side of it too, if he still remembers.

I did get to know him a bit better over the next couple of years, and I don't think he held a grudge.. Cheers Stainsey, whereever you are..

only in America LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

The University of Washington information technology department released an “inclusive language guide” that lists a number of “problematic words” that are “racist,” “sexist,” “ageist,” or “homophobic,” reported Fox News.

According to the guide, words such as “grandfather,” “housekeeping,” “minority,” “ninja,” and “lame” are considered “problematic words.”

The guide considers “grandfather” a “problematic word” because the term was “used as a way to exempt some people from a change because of conditions that existed before the change.”
“Housekeeping,” is another “problematic” word that the guide recommends should be avoided by others working in the information technology industry because it can “feel gendered.”
“Using colours based as racist tropes — labelling [sic] ‘white’ as good, ‘black’ as bad, ‘red’ as attackers, or ‘yellow’ as excluded third parties — is offensive,” the guide states

Nope it is here already, spewing out of our unis like Deakin, Monash and Melbourne.

Articles are popping into our news media roughly fortnightly. It is the start of the creep  of getting embedded into "right think" before becoming compulsory.
